[Randall C. Reed] I'm just really surprised no one has offered up
the obvious solution: Put your troop patches on as usual, then, turn the
shirt inside out! You can use part of the shirt tail and the extra buttons
to quickly fashion two "inside" epaulets for the grey tabs. Small American
flags can be purchased at any craft store and sewn on the "inside" right
shoulder exactly in the same spot as the original one on the "outside" of
the shirt. Now, the next step is a little trickier: Using a medium point
PERMANENT red Sharpie pen, very carefully outline the stitching of the "Boy
Scouts of America" strip over the right pocket flap. Now, CAREFULLY print
out "Boy Scouts of America" within the stitching box. Let dry thoroughly
before proceeding. Add your own Commissioner patch to align with the
Scoutmaster patch on the outside of the left sleeve and you're in business.
Notice that with this technique, you don't even need to cover over the troop
number: its on the INSIDE! Neat, huh? We used this all the time when I was
in Troop 666, Hell's Kitchen Council, Trenton, NJ. Comments?
