You are to commended for all that you have done Rainee! While in principle,
I share Mr. Lazell's opinion on the fact that Scoutmasters should be men
because the service as a male role model is fundamental to our wonderful
program, I disagree strongly that women can not serve as Assistant
Scoutmasters and in many other vital roles within Scouting. The short
sightedness of such thinking is astounding in a time when merely finding
sufficient leadership to carry on the program is so difficult in most areas
and to base this reasoning on such archaic views is unforgivable. Don't
give up on scouting! Find another unit whose sole purpose is providing the
Boys a quality program and there will be a place for you.
