Joel asked what did I miss. regarding the school searching the car.

My son has applied for the privilege to drive to school. Part of the
agreement is the school's ability to search the car for what ever reason,
whenever they want. If you don't feel this is within the schools "rights",
you don't have to honor the agreement.meaning You Don't Drive To School.
Remember, driving is a privilege and not a right.
