I remind the Committee every time we either meet formally or informally. In
numerous correspondence I remind everyone as well. probably to the point
that they are growing weary of it. My major concern is that the Troop (the
Scouts in other words) do not suffer if the Committee "sits on their hands"
between now and March 2001.
As to the other question, I would not be stepping on anyone's toes by
lobbying for the ASM Venture. The fact is, I have met a small degree of
resistance from some of the Committee on putting a Venture Patrol program in
place (seems they are concerned that a Venture Patrol may distract the older
Scouts from their other Scouting duties - sounds familiar?). I intend to
stick to my guns on this - because I can see the beginning of "I'm growing
board" comments coming for the older (13 yr. old plus) Scouts.
Thanks for the feedback.
