I really don't think it proper to put a member of this list name in the
subject block.

I posted some comments about poorly run electrical lines amongst tent
platforms and got blasted a while ago and it still stings.

In any case our local paper (and really the only one in the state that is
statewide) has taken up the cause of blasting scouting in its commentary
columns by a couple of well known and connected reporters as well as the
editorial board. One of the local reporters make it a habit of waving the
sword regarding the BSA membership requirements of certain groups. There is
NO unbiased reporting in the paper nor is counter opinion allowed to be
presented at all other than an occasional letter to the letter.

The paper is now taking a local college that had some athletes that got out
of hand off campus. The college will most likely make national news in its
strong reaction to the incident. The paper on the other hand seems to want
more blood and is fueling the situation rather than reporting the facts and
the actual news.

And the list goes on and on.............

I was at our scout camp when we made national news last summer and its was
not pretty ...............but when I got home and went to work that Monday
after our week here is an article by the local rag's reporter (with a
mission) in which I find my SPL quoted about the incident. Unknown to me the
young reporter had sneaked onto the camp grounds (or at least had not told
the camp authorities) and was interviewing scouts............so much for
honest and credible journalism.

In any case when I was younger I used to laugh about a president who said
that the press would not have him to kick around anymore. Now I am becoming
more aware how all can be manipulated for someone's own gain.

Lets drop this subject and not attach each other on the list.......send
private email if you think its needed but keep it scout like.
