Chris Stone brought up one very important point about adult Patrol cooking.
Although there is a tendency to make the ultimate gourmet meal at each
camp out, this may not inspire the Scouts to become better cooks. However
the gourmet touch applied to recipes simple enough for Scouts using foods
they like will accomplish wonders. I have seen it happen when I finally
got the message and stopped cooking multi-step,
home-pre-preparation-required dishes at camp outs and started to cook good
solid, balanced meals as well as I could. The Scouts started asking for
and using some of the recipes for their Patrols. What more can you ask?
