The basic idea would actually be rather simple- take the can and suspend a
metal weight on a wire. Run a wire from the can to a battery holder (2 D
batteries probably) to a buzzer (rated for the voltage of 2 D batteries- 3
volts) to the wire with the weight. The buzzer will sound every time the
weight touches the side of the can.
It would be better for the game if the buzzer 'locked on' for a moment when
it sounded, but that would either take a small electric circuit, OR rigging
it up to a different noise-maker. If you have a toy around that does some
noise or activity for a short amount of time whenever it is activated, you
can rig that up instead of the buzzer.
