I agree with the idea of group tentage. We purchased our tents in the 1950's
and 60's. They are 6 man wall tents and each patrol can usually fit their
numbers in (5-8) The scouts pitch the tents and set up cots as a group/team
effort. We use an assortment of 2-3 man tents for backpacking trips and they
are ones the troop has purchased or been given.
I realize this type of equiptment may not be practical for a new troop but it
is a excellent way to promote team effort and Patrol building.
