I am sorry but I don't agree with this:
None of these things would happen. The laws would still be broken and NO gain
would take place. That is the reality.
1) There would be much less traffic on the roads. Traffic increases daily
regardless of enforcement
2) It would be much safer on the roads. Why? The laws will still be broken.
3) Physical fitness levels would increase as more people walked and road
bikes. Changing the speeding laws will have no effect on this.
4) Public transportation would improve. Changing the speeding laws will have
no effect on this.
5) Air quality would improve. Not unless there is a reverse in the overall
number of vehicles on the road and as we all know it increases daily.
6) Noise pollution would decrease. Not realistic, Traffic increases daily
regardless of enforcement
7) our dependence on foreign oil would decrease> There is no dependence, we
export more oil that we use that is a fact!
Why not cut off a person's fingers when they are caught stealing bread? The
only result of this would be that the courts would be overwhelmed with cases
that would be tossed out or reduced to nothing. Come on, everyone deserves a
second chance.
