<Sorry, Jim, but I have to disagree. I've been, and continue to be,
involved with units chartered to different religious organizations and I do
not expect any one one of them to make adjustments in their religious
practices to accomodate non-members.(unquote)

my response:

as someone said in an earlier post, i guess we have to agree to disagree.

the key words in this response are: (quote) religious organization (not
expected) to make adjustments in their religious practices.(unquote)

i'll certainly agree with this.

but the BSA is not a religious organization. the discussion is not really
about religious services conducted by chartering ortganizations.
we are talking about religious services led, organized, and conducted by
scouts/scouters - only sometimes in a troop (or unit situation).
nor are all the situations mentioned about scouts who knowingly join troops
chartered by other religions (provided that when they choose to conduct
SCOUT services in that religious flavor they are given the opportunity to
excuse themselves without being singled out or ostracized).

to use this argument for all situations is a cop-out for being blind to the
sensitivites of others.

A broader perspective can always apply.
