Before you engage in the larger battle, do some guerilla fighting

Install GFI outlets at all outlets that the scouts plug their cords into.

Then explain to the scous a few simple electrical facts of life

i.e. 50 small appliances *0.2amps draw = 25 amps = pops fuse or breaker on
most circuits =unplug something

Popped GFI on low load = find the frayed wire or wet wire!
