Sorry, Mary, but I have to disagree with you. Every unit treats the B&G
differently and as a dad, unit Scouter and now as a Commissioner I've been to
some wonderful B&G dinners that had great entertainment. When my son was in
Cubs his pack invited some paramedics; had a great time getting those little
electrode stickies put on their chests. Or how about last year when one of
my packs brought in a wildlife expert with his buzzards, owls and hawks? You
should've seen those little eyes bug out when the turkey vulture spread his
wings right in front of some of the boys.
Save the awards for a regular pack meeting and treat the B&G as a big
birthday party for BSA; let's have some fun.
