Oh boy! Where has just plain common sense gone? Just because it ain't written down don't mean we shouldn't do it.
IMHO, For your safety and protection: Two deep leadership at every meeting, outing, camping trip, etc. Follow the "rule of three" for autos and always have boys go to merit badge counselors with a buddy.
Just keep in mind, if a boy is injured with you the only adult present, or if you are accused of some untoward action when you are alone with a boy or group, your reliance on "written policy" won't protect you from civil or criminal liablity. Or, at the very least, a great deal of grief!
I don't recall ever seeing that common sense is a requirement for an adult leader. Maybe we have to write that down too?
