Jim,
Scouts attending a BSA National Jamboree do so as part of Troop organized as
part of a Council contingent. Individual Scout Troops cannot attend the
Jamboree as full participants. They can and often do visit the Jamboree
site, but may not participate in all of the activities (there are many
events that they can participate in like campfire shows and programs, but
not ones designed for paying participants). There are also restrictions on
visit times, number of days of visits, and overnight stays within a
specified radius of Fort A.P. Hill (in the past this was 50 miles, but
likely will be farther away next time).
