Re: Blue and Gold Continued

IMO that's the WRONG time of the year to do those things....those events
should be held off until at least April or May. While it's "cool" to do
crossover ceremonies during the Blue and Gold (and I've been to a lot where
it was really, really grand occassions), a much better time is in April or
May, so that they can go straight to the Troop or experience the first year
of Cub Day Camp in their new status.

Not to mention what it does to the PARENTS of the Tiger Cubs. "Are they Cub
Scouts or not??"

And which I responded with what some of the BSA's materials says are the
purposes of the Blue and Gold Banquet: to have fun, to recognize volunteers
and parents, and to get everyone associated with the Pack together to eat
and reflect on what happened over the past year and what can happen in the
future (and to make a contribution toward Scouting's future through Friends
of Scouting!)
