One of my Wood Badge patrol mates was ASM in a troop that did regular
50-milers. Among their requirements to qualify for the trek was to
complete five 10-mile hikes (in addition to shakedown backpack trips)
in the months before the trek. Having completed a previous 50-miler
gave you credit for one 10-miler, two 50-milers, two hikes credit, etc.
