Bob,
I've never been involved with a unit that did a 50-miler, although I have
been
in on the planning stages for some. But whether a given trip came off or not,
they were always planned as activities for the venture patrol which generally
consisted of boys at least 14 years old and First Class or Star (depended on
the troop). Have done several other high adventure activities with these
older
boys and enjoyed every one of them.
