I have noticed in one council a sweeping away of minor awards at the council
dinner including woodbadge beadings (which really set of a virulent
controversy) and the council program committee renamed it the silver beaver
dinner. (is there a silver beaver in the house?)
I have had so much fun inventing little dodads (over 10 years and 4 scout
execs) to make people feel important and part of the action,,,Mikes post has
given me thought to maybe ask for permission first but maybe its easier to
beg forgiveness.
