As Scoutmaster of Troop 586, Zionsville Ward,
I can share what we are doing.

August is Annual Planning/Leadership Training month.
We are rebuilding/expanding the program for those 14 and up,
so I am focusing on the Dragon patrol (12-13 year olds/Deacons)
and the Eagle Patrol (11 year olds/first year scouts).

I will get all the info I can from the District Annual Kickoff Thursday,
and the Church Stake Roundtable on August 19th =

(8 wards, each ward is in a different District).
I'm working with the SPL, Assistant Scoutmasters (including Deacon's Advi=
sor)
and Troop Committee on goals and calendar, before our
August 27-28th Training/Planning Campout (all 6 Dragons/Deacons).

Hopefully the Varsity Team /Venturing Crew will do the same,
so we have the new year to present to the Troop Committee meeting
August 29th, and then to all Families at the =

Scout Family Kickoff September 7th.
This evening will also be our Court of Honor. =

Jon Crozier is coordinating the Kick-off event,
as his Scoutmaster Assigned Leadership project.
(Last requirement to become Life Scout).
It should be complete with displays of recent events and skills,
and of upcoming events.
It should involve all family members,
except for sisters who are involved in Young Womens, =

which of course meets at the same time.

I am interested to hear what others are planning.

backwoodsmanship, camping, hiking, Jamboree comradeship, are all means, n=

the end. The end is character-- character with a purpose." BP =
