Geez!!!! I wonder if they went to the same person? As one of the Trading Post B staff that helped pull them off the shelves and box them up - there were LOTS of them. I helped count one box and it was more than 4,000 and it wasn't the only box. I wonder if there is a commercial patch seller out there hoping to make a fortune.
BTW, I've heard lots of things about those goofy rectangular Jamboree patches, but never, ever have I heard them called a "visitor" patch. And I worked at one of the trading posts. Our professional staff never conveyed anything like that to us.
Had National wanted the official patch to be sold only to participants, it would have been easy for the TP cashiers to just ask to see their participant or staff ID. But we were never given any restrictions of any kind on who we sold to or what amount.
I also never saw a round 3' twill Jamboree 97 patch except sewn on to a bag. While I didn't check every single round 3' patch that we sold at TPB, I don't think any were in our inventory. All of ours were the fuzzy kind.
