With some of the recent discussions about the use of Scouts in
advertisements, I saw one today that was interesting. It was an infomerical
about a new fishing lure. They were getting customer endorsements, and had
a group of scouts who were avid fishermen give their view of the product.
The advertiser put up a message on the screen stating that the BSA did not
endorse their product, and they took the effort to blur the scout's uniforms
so you couldn't tell what their CSP or Lodge flaps were. They only
identified them by name and city. I thought that that was a good way to
avoid any problems.
