Marcia,
When I was an SA-Venture it was. We did a weekend of quinzees and
cross-country skiing and it was an adventure. It was one those times when
you ask yourself if all the work was really worth the fun you had. Listening
to the boys on the way home on Sunday answered any questions; yes, it was
worth it. And it was the same when the boys left base camp (with other
leaders) for some backcountry hiking and camping in the Catskill Mountains or
did cave exploring in the Helderbergs. High adventure is what you make it -
and what the younger boys can't do.
