1. You know those silly warnings that appear on products these days?
(The one on the TILEX bottle that says use in a well-ventilated area --
where you wouldn't likely have mildew in the first place; the one on the
Microwavable TV dinner that says Caution product will be hot (after 5
mins in the microwave) -- those things) There seems to be a web site;
the *stated* URL was "octane.com" -- I don't know if there's a www. or
not, I just caught the reference on the radio.

2. In the Washington POST this morning, in Hints to Heloise, the
suggestion is made that if one has access to the "bladder" from 4 or 5
liter wine boxes, one can rinse it out well, partially fill with water,
freeze and use in the ice chest for picnics. NOT that ANY of US would
have PERSONAL knowledge, I _know_, but we've all got friends. (g)

3. We all do however, have personal knowledge of 16 or 20 oz soft drink
bottles, or the squirt-top designer water bottles. These too can be run
through the dishwasher, filled (2/3) with bug juice or water and frozen.
I've found it best to (a) leave the top off (b) tilt them to freeze (c) cap
after freezing, (d) DON'T leave the straw in to freeze. (g) These can be
used as canteens, as someone else suggested yesterday, or as ice-packs in
the ice chest.
