Re: Jambo: Insider or Visitor

We usually sponsor a visit to the Jamboree. We still have a Scout or two
that will elect the inside route with the official council contingent, and
I promote that option as well.

In 1997, we sent a crew of boys for $275. That included a visit to the
Jamboree for the opening show, then we toured D.C for 3 days, Norfolk
area, camped at Assateague Island in MD, and rafted the New River in VA.
Great trip.

Both are valid options. For many boys though, financially the visit
option is the most realistic. Our council contingent in 2001 will cost
about $1200. We can do a great program for 1/4 that cost.

We do what we can for the boys.
