Re: 4 hour Scoutmaster Basic Training...

I have just completed my Scoutmaster training this last weekend.
While much of the material was a rehash of previous training that I
received as a Cub Master , I still feel that it was worth my time to
go thru the program. I serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster in a troop
that has thirteen Assistant Scoutmasters and a Scoutmaster who is top
notch in training and organization. The material was not new to me
however, I believe that I serve in a unique troop. WHAT I DID ENJOY
was the meeting of other adults involved in Scouting in my district.
The sharing of information between the volunteers is what makes
leaders Training important in my book. One short 4 hour meeting does
not allow this fellowship and sharing to be created. Also the
homemade biscuits, potato and sausage dutch oven recipe, and omlets
weren't bad either on Saturday morning!
