Councils making money off their volunteers and Scouts? Standard practice
but where does that money go? Back to their volunteers and Scouts. So long
as it is used wisely, it is a practice that works for everyone. The real
danger in this practice is pricing events out of the acceptable price range
so that you prevent Scouts from participating due to their parents inability
to afford the cost. Viewing the posts on this subject, one would get the
impression that there are a number of councils that have gotten greedy and
are dipping much to deeply into the well. As in every subject we can
discuss on this list, the bottom line is the boys and does this practice
serve in the best interest of the boys.
