I recently posted a note concerning whether other councils "required" a 20%
contingency as does the East Texas Area Council. Volunteer scouters here are
having a terrible time accepting this amount. I thank those who have
responded to my previous question.

We should be having a meeting soon concerning this contingency funding for
events. We have also learned that meals that were charged one fee for our
events at our council camp were priced about $1.70 more than the council was
charged for them. We already pay $300 for the use of the camp, plus $400 for
an electricity charge. Are any other councils using "deceptive" practices to
make more money off of events than just the contingency funds?

YIS,

Darrell Clakley
District Commissioner
Okee-Tuklo District
East Texas Area Council
