I know my age will be showing here, but back when I was an elementary
Sunday School student, w-a-a-a-y before velcro, my teachers used flannel
boards for illustrating Bible stories to us. The board was covered with
flannel and a couple of strips of flannel were glued to the backs of the
pictures. The pictures adhered to the boards very well and were easily
removed.
