Re: Donations to Units

I was under the impression that donations were tecnically made to the
Chartering Organizations for use by the Scouting Unit at least that was
how it was explained to me when we got a donation of a bunch of craft
supplies, a Tipis cover and paint from various people. The Church that
charters us wrote the recipts for tax purposes and passed the money on
to us. My son's Troop was bequithed a large sum of money in a will and
the money is somehow invested with the Council with the intrest paid to
the Troop once or twice a year. If there is no Troop in town the intrest
compounds until there is another one.
Unfortunately the Ohio Council sounds a little like the Girl Scout
Council here, after the money!
