tee Forshaw raised the question of gender role models.
my resoponse is to tell ur scout executive he needs to find another job (or
change his attitude). his response was imporper.
the concept of male role models as a method of scouting went out some time
ago. it is now adult role models. therefore, women have as much right (and
responsibility) to set the example as men.
likewise men should be able to show the nurturing role too.
as soon as BSA voided the prior limitation as to which positions women could
hold (or not hold), their roles became the same as men's.
(they also did away with the gender specific silver fawn award - and now use
the silver beaver, regardless of gender).
ur SE needs retraining.
