All adults have to be examples. All adults should be nurturing. The council
exec should have his job on the line for making a remark like that and thus
ensuring the continuance of some of the offensive and backward thinking that
too many people unfortunately associate with BSA. (When, in fact, it is
simply that some of our execs are offensive and backward thinking.)
A volunteer in BSA should be in whatever position he or she can handle
effectly and positively. As long as a volunteer is willing and working to
promote the ideals and methods of scouting, then they are the "right person
for the job."
