Food intolerances

One item I forgot to add to my post yesterday is that sometimes, when
eating out, you forget, if you aren't the one doing the cooking, that
something I make (or Mom makes in this case) may not be OK. Yet at home
you eat that. The Scout in question, may in fact eat lasagna at home -
bacause Mom uses Soya-Kass (yuk and it still has sodium caseinate in it)
for the cheese. And you can in fact, overeat a "forbidden" item because
when you get the real thing, it tastes really good!
Also, things like potato salad, macaroni salad are fine if made with mayo
or regular Miracle Whip - and bothersome if made with LIght Miracle Whip
which has skim milk added. In fact, I find that items labeled "light" or
"reduced fat" often use skim milk as an ingredient - whereas the "whole"
or "regular" product is fine. Gets the milk-allergic person in trouble if
they are paired up with those watching their weight or cholesterol.
