A final note on pads. If you want to avoid the bulk of a rolled up ensolite
closed cell pad, buy the new Z-Rest made by Cascade Designs. Fits well on a
pack without the usual bulk, can be used as a seat while in camp and a
mattress when you sleep. I have a standard Thermorest. The pad developed a
leak after 6-7 years of use and Thermorest replaced it FREE with a factory
second. I have had the same thing happen to my Marmot Gore-Tex jacket and my
North Face sleeping bag. If you treat it right, it is guaranteed for life.
