"We have a Problem" revisited...

Well, another list member has vowed to go back underground and never
post again, because of the private email recieved in response to a
question that was posted in good faith.
We _all_ need to take a look at how our replies can be viewed by
others who read them. Saying "Well, that's just my way" is avoiding
the responsibility of having to possibly clean up our own acts.
In the list guidelines, that everyone gets when they first subscribe,
we are asked to follow the Scout Oath and Law in our conduct around
the list. I suggest that this also refers to our private replies to
questions or comments posed and posted here. This is not a Usenet
newsgroup, and the anarchy that passes for usenet nettiquette need
not apply here.
We can't assume that we _all_ are leaders. Some of us may be kids
in the program using daddy's - or mommy's - account. For that
reason, we need to be a bit more careful in how we respond privately
to others here.
