Re: Unscoutlike behavior on list

In various other discussions on Scouts-L and Arrow-L, people have asked how
to deal with unscoutlike behavior on the part of various youth. One of the
more useful replies I've seen can be paraphrased as, "Remember that the
youth are learning to be Scouts, it will take them a while to master it."
Some people pass out of the youth phase before they learn how to be a Scout.
Some never learn it. Think of the list as if it was a Troop that you worked
with, a few of whose members tended to show very un-Scoutlike behavior. If
you were their unit leader, you'd have to do something about it directly.
If not, you might be tempted to respond directly to those Scouts, depending
on your position and your skills. Otherwise, it might be best just to
remember the reply above, and continue to enjoy the other Scouts in the Troop.

Remember the Scout Law and Scout Oath (whatever your local flavor is).
