Hi Lorie,
Don't leave us. Your memo, stating the facts, is sometimes what all of us
need to hear. I know I've received responses on occasions that really made
me mad because they seemed so rude. I must admit, that I don't always word
things right. After a few messages back and forth got us communicating the
way we should be.
There are Scouters that live and breath scouting and forget that others are
not as well versed in Scouting. When I went to Woodbadge, our patrol ran
into this situation. There were several rude instructors with an almighty
attitude. The entire Woodbage situation was being affected by instructor's
attitudes. We communicated honestly with them, and thats when they did some
waking up and things changed real fast. I also noticed in many Scouting
events that many of the old time Scouters fail to mingle with the new
Scouters...to get them motivated and feel welcome.
The Scout-L is a wonderful resource..

Stick with us.....there are some great Scouters on line. They have helped me
out tremendously. Because of Scout-L and all the response, I was able to put
together a committee request for the purchase of backpacking tents and
stoves. Couldn't have done it with them.
