Keith,
This is an excellent idea. I've done it before. He is probably more in touch
with what the younger kids need than you and I are. And with a bird on
his chest, they'll follow him where ever he goes. He can also work with
recruitment. Again he knows what turns kids on.
What ever you do, take advantage of his youth and energy.

Subject: When a Scout Turns 18
I have an Eagle scout that will turn 18 next week. He is only a sophomore
in
high school (he had a learning disability when he was younger, but has
out
grown it) so he will be around for at least 2 more years. He plans to stay
active in the troop. He is also the OA Chapter Chief. My plans are to make
him an Assistant Scoutmaster in charge of new scouts when he turns
18. He is
excellent with the younger scouts.
My questions to the group are: Am I allowed to do that? and Does
anyone have
any other ideas as to what I can do with him?
Thanks,
