When we were sponsored by a Park District, they required all my leaders to
undergo a background check from the State Police. I would guess they looked
for felonies, sex offender charges, etc. They charged $10 for this.
Illinois also requires all convicted sex offenders to register with the
local police department within 30 days of moving into a town. This is open
to any adult who wants to know.
