Our offices was inadvertently affected by the Melissa virus today!!!
On Friday night my boss attempted to log on to Prodigy Internet. When she was
unable to (apparently their servers were swamped by Melissa messages -- a fact
they are not copping to but are blaming the phone company), she attempted to
make some setting changes. (You all recall that it was Friday night that
Melissa became rampant.)
This was unsuccessful so she called Prodigy tech support on Monday night. The
"technician" had her go in and make several deletions to our office network
system. And bada bing -- our server is toast due in a round-about way to
Melissa.
So, be careful!!! Be aware!!! and Make sure all your coworkers are aware of
the problems.
