I'm new to Boy Scouts and training isn't for a couple weeks. Maybe you can
help with my silly questions.
1. Can a scout work on merit badges as soon as he joins the troop or do they
have to wait until a certain rank?
2. If a Scout earned his whittling chip as a CS, is he able to carry his knife
or must he earn his Totin' Chip first?
3. When a scout earns a patch, say for a hike, where do they wear it? I know
you can wear temporary patches on the uniform, but what do you do when you
take it off?
