New to the List

I am new to the list, I am a SM for a 1 year old troop that has grown from
6 to 15 boys in one year. I am presently in woodbadge and am working on
writing my ticket this week. I have 3 ASM's. All our boy's are >13 so we
have some maturity problems with young leaders. We are located about 80
miles from the council office, are the only troop in a large county and are
challenged by the distance between some of our scouts (40 miles in some
cases). I am finding that all of the answers in the books do not fit units
that are new and are geographically dispersed. I would welcome any ideas
or comments about those in similar situations. Of course I am also looking
for ideas on how to involve parents more in the program. Our committee is
finally being formed and (hopefully) organized effectively this week.
Hope to hear from you!
