Scout shorts suck too!

All-

If people are sending in complains to National about the Scout Pants, don't
forget to also complain about the Scout Shorts. These are poorly designed
as well. I don't know who the heck designed them, but National needs to
team up with some outdoor clothing complany like Columbia, Royal Robbings,
The North Face, Sportif, or heck even The Gap/Old Navy, and come up with
something better. The last time I got scout shorts I had to get them 2
sizes larger then I would for any other shorts I have just to fit. And I
didn't care for the zipper. It was more the kind I see on dress pants then
the heavy-duty zipper I see on jeans or other shorts. I have pretty much
gone to using OD shorts I get at the Gap, and now that I'm in Venturing, I'm
just going to get gray shorts and forget scout shorts.

I recently got a pair of the popular Philmont shorts. These are made by
Columbia with the Philmont logo embroidered on them. Very nice. They are
tan, with front and back slash pockets, and two extra cargo pockets on the
front. I wish they had a snap or jean-style attachment instead of a button,
tho. Wish that National would take these pants as the basis for Scout and
Venturing shorts. They could have them in gray with the Venturing logo
embroidered on them for Venturers, and olive drab with a scout logo
embroidered on them [tho not in a color that stands out from the OD too
much] for scout shorts.
