Okay, I'll bite. My current troop uses the "Advancement Hatrack"
you mentioned, although your enhancement of letting each Scout
personalize his tag is interesting. To date we've used a
uniformly
sized piece of planking about 1x6x1/2, which lacks.

And by the way...we will place our first plank under the Eagle
rank this Sunday 3/14 when Kelly Shinners is awarded Eagle
by his Grandfather, who coincidentally was born the same
year Scouting was.

As for the paper advancement charts, we've not used them
in any of my last 3 troops. While they can motivate, it's
seemed too tough to keep them up to date. Correlating the
individual books with TroopMaster is enough of a job,
particularly with <1st Class ranks. (and if anyone has an
idea to make -that- more efficient, please sing out!).
