This is one of the reasons I really hate it when we "judge" the merit of a
message on this forum.
Here is a perfectly valid question, that has the potential of invoking some
great discussion on advancement motivation, yet because some might consider the
replies "not interesting" enough to see, we'll never have that discussion.
This is a real shame.
We are considering using this chart as well. We have not had any permanent wall
space in our meeting place that we can use, but are working on it. We have
condidered putting the chart on an easel and pulling it out only at meeting
time. Does anyone else do anything like that?
We have also made a "rank hatrack" that holds the names of the boys in little
plaques, each under their current rank. The boys get to make their own nametags
from a standard sized block of wood. Some are carved, some are simply magic
marker, some are painted, the potential for competition in making the most
interesting and unique nametag is fun in and of itself.
It looks something like this:
Scout Tenderfoot 2nd Class 1st Class Star Life Eagle
Marty Bob Ben Norris Ben P Robert Sam
Jon K Stephen Steve Mike Michael
Timmy Thomas Tom M
Ryan Bobbie B John
You get the picture.
When a boy advances, his name moves to the next set of hooks. Each plaque has
hooks on the top edge and rings on the bottom one.
Anyone else use anything like this?

interested in this discussion.
