It takes roughly two months after the application is turned into
the local Council office (eight weeks) before the first issue is
sent out to your home. Remember that BL is sent out monthly, so
it's quite possible if you've registered in December, the
application and monies didn't arrive at your Council until the
middle or toward the end of the month, and the December holidays
delaying things a little more until toward the very end of the
month.
I would say that if your sons don't receive an issue by April, to
call the local Council and ask to speak with the Registrar. He or
she would be able to tell you and "trace it" for you.
If you haven't received an issue by May, write to the BSA's
Registration Service explaining when you've registered, what unit
and what local Council. They will take it from there, and if past
experiences have continued to bear outward, you'll get a free issue
of BL while they are finding what happened to the ones you've paid
for.
And by the way, check the label on your first issue of BL...it
should tell you when the last issue (the 12th issue) would be sent
to your home. In most cases it coincides with your unit's charter.
In some cases, it doesn't.
Hope all of this helps out, Sarah...and thank you for the
investment in your son's education and personal growth by
purchasing _Boys_Life_ for them...they will enjoy it coming to them
monthly and so will you!
