Re: What would YOU want answered???

(no name) ((no email))
Mon, 1 Mar 1999 14:13:49 -0600

Tom Petric <EC92@AOL.COM> asked:

>I will be presenting a class on "What is Venturing" with Bill
>Evans on Saturday, 3/6, at the Central Region Area 3 Presidents
>Area Conference on Exploring.
>
>So outside of "What is Venturing" and Bill's Powerpoint
>presentation of the materials available what would *you* want to
>hear us tell *you* if you had to sit through our one-hour
>course?

*When will the new Venturing Basic Course be released to the
Councils?

*What kinds of support materials will be offered in support of the
Basic Course?

*Are present Exploring leaders "grandfathered in" as far as tenure
toward training awards/keys or does the "time start over" with the
start of this program year for training awards/keys?

*Will merit badges be allowed to be earned as a "stepping stone"
toward the Bronze Awards or for the Ranger Award?

*Will there be Council, Area and Regional Venturing "youth panels"
or representation and what would their roles be in the overall
scope of the Venturing program (I know, not fair...Tom and I have
been talking off-list about this topic)?

*Will there be a "fdl" or Scout emblem added to the Venturing logo?
When?

*Some Councils are still trying to get basic information about
Venturing...are there going to be teams set up for supporting the
transition in the second and final phase??

*How much of a prescense does the Venturing Division expect during
the next National Jamboree?? Other than a booth introducing the
program, and possibly some Venturing Arrowmen working there as part
of the Youth OA staff, can you clue us in as to how Venturing will
be incorporated?

*Has there been a final decision on whether or not the Ranger Award
is going to use the old square knot designed for it years back or
whether it is going to *have* a square knot? The same question for
the Silver Award.

Hope those help out, Tom!
