We've NEVER had a "Treasurer" patch, Mark, for Boy Scouts. There
was a Treasurer patch for Explorers to wear in three different
versions (on kelly green or on khakitan with the lettering
"Treasurer"; and on red with the gold Exploring "Big E" or "Zippin'
E" emblem), but there has NEVER been a "Treasurer" patch for Boy
Scouts nor Varsity Scouts.
The "Troop Treasurer" is the Troop's Scribe, Mark. He's
responsible for all of the documentation and recording of the
Troop's program and events. He's the Scout that takes up, records,
and provides the weekly dues and other fees to the adult Treasurer.
In some Troops, both the Troop Committeemember serving as Treasurer
as well as the youth "treasurer" both wear the Scribe insignia. I
don't recommend it, but it's a good "connection" between the
Troop's Committee and the Troop operation.
