DON"T ask the local school board. Most of the time, either they don't know, or they have a vested interest in *not* giving you the facts. A better source of information is the National Home Education Research Institute, which is a nonprofit research and educational organization. They can tell you the homeschooling requirements for each state. Their web site is <www.nheri.org>.

In spite of the advice you received about asking the school board about homeschool requirements, it sounds like you did a good job, and that it turned out well. :-)
