Hi Mark,

I'm a camping merit badge counselor and I would allow it under the right
conditions. A night at the Jellystone RV resort in LUray, VA, sure
wouldn't count--but a night camping with dad 10 or so miles away in a
tent off the Appalachian Trail would.

As a counselor, you have the discretion to make decisions like this as
long as the requirements are fulfilled.
