50 Milers in the Southern Rockies

Whiting, Mark (MWHITING@APSC.COM)
Tue, 26 Jan 1999 16:35:53 -0700

Our PLC is planning a 50 miler. They would like to go in the Rockies. We
would like to limit our driving time to 1 day from Phoenix, AZ if possible.
We have several resource books and maps. I would like to ask for
recommendations from troops that have done a 50 miler in the southern part
of Colorado or in New Mexico. We are only taking experienced and conditioned
backpackers. We plan on letting the group aclimatize properly to the
altitude. We would like to take 6 days for the backpacking. I will summarize
all submittals with contact information. Thank you.
